The Menu Scanner, which photographs a restaurant menu and recommends a dish based on a chosen goal such as highest protein or lowest calorie.

How to use it

Photograph the menu, then pick a request or type your own. Built-in options include highest protein-to-carb ratio, low carb, highest protein, most filling for the price, low calorie, lowest sodium, and simply the tastiest option. It takes your dietary restrictions and remaining calories for the day into account.

It reads what's printed on the menu, which rarely includes nutrition information. Recommendations are informed estimates based on typical preparations of those dishes.
