Getting started
What is Food Loops?
A food tracker that logs meals from a photo, a barcode or a plain sentence, and keeps your data on your phone.
Food Loops is a food tracker that turns a photo, a barcode or a plain sentence into calories and macros, and keeps your logs in a database on your phone rather than on a server.
It exists because of one specific annoyance: on most trackers, the slowest part of logging a meal is searching a database full of near-identical entries and guessing which one matches what you actually ate. Food Loops lets you describe food the way you'd describe it to a person, and works out the rest.
What makes it different
- No account. There is nothing to sign up for, no password, and no email address collected.
- Your food logs live in local storage on the device and are never uploaded.
- You build a library of the foods you actually eat, instead of searching a generic database every time.
- Every food gets a Satiety Score and a NOVA rating, so you can see which foods are worth their calories.

What it isn't
It has no social feed, no friends and no leaderboards. Because there's no account, your data doesn't sync between devices — moving phones means exporting a backup file and importing it on the other side. And it is not a medical device.
